I want to know...
why Nollywood and Ghanawood ( i refuse to use gollywood) prefers light skinned men and doesn't really care the colour of the women as long as they are fine (which is as it should be) . I mean shouldn't we be equal opportunity shades of skin hirers? i feel like the men are getting yellower and yellower.

Didnt even notice this. I guess they feel light skinned is good looking?
LOL..Not observed that myself.. Maybe the male roles being cast are increasingly more been-to and some light skinned dude fits the role more?
hehehehehe Wordy, you are not serious. Weting be gollywood sef?
My question is what's with all the "wood"?
omo me I no know oh...didnt notice that one sha o...
Are u sure u r black or African? LOL!!! Just had to say that. I get asked that a lot.
I'm not an expert on all things nollywood.. but the few ones i see on tv don't seem to supprt your analysis..
Or are they just old ones being rerun?
@ ALL ramsey noah, van vicker and they even got a white boy running around now, desmond seems like the only black boy left, then that kalu too is not dark hehe. me i dont care personally o, as in fine boy na fine boy but hmmm
@nice anon: wood, i think is an easy short hand instead of havin to say the Nigerian film industry or the Ghanaian film industry.
lol..VAN VICKER!
hotttt brother!
To be honest it was like that with the women too until jenny came through. I think it is indicative of the 'light is right' syndrome that a lot of black people suffer from. Whilst I do not mind Ramsey N, I cannot stand VV, dude cannot act and he lacks charisma. He might be handsome but he is just not sexy, I'll take Jim Iyke over him any day. Jim looks like needs no instructions, if you know what I mean.
On the subject of Nollywood and Ghanawood (or Gollywood or Ghallywood as someone told it is called) I think the whole thing oughta be Nollywood, I am not being nationalist when I say this. The Ghanaian actors bring nothing different to the table and it is just a branch of Nollywood in another country....
hmmm now im going to be looking out for that........ guess light skinned guys are more attractive
I need to start watching Naija videos!
i've always thought both light- and dark-skinned actors were equally used..dunno sha..
i may be wrong sha but the last 3 films i saw the light skinned men were the hot / good guys sha. the one black guy i saw in all 3 was always doing something shady.
Didn't know they even call it gollywood. LOL. Sounds funny.
I didn't know they prefer light skinned dudes oo. Never noticed. Hmmmm
@ L-VII babe I agree with you on you ..Ghanaian films just branch of Nollywood ..I even thoguht they were Nollywood sef when I was watching one ....Infact I have a post to do on this subject ..
