Thisday Awards 2010

Ok so I usually try to stay out of politics and controversy (we got Sugabelly for that)
If you have seen the list of people being honored at the Thisday awards 2010, you will say to yourself what a great idea but THIS IS A JOKE RIGHT

1. Ibrahim Babaginda is on that list.
2. Ibrahim Babaginda is on that list
3. Point one and two needed to be repeated. and also
4. Only one woman is on that list and Nigeria is NOT a country where women are not in the public sphere. This is not even about feminism. This is about fact. Only Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala made it on there. Obi Ezekwesili? Dora Akinyuli?? Chimamanda Adichie? and this list is just scratching the surface.

Nigerians, we should STOP letting this jokers represent our media and our opinions. Frankly this list made me ashamed, as foreigners are trying to sympathize with us because of our history of TERRIBLE leaders and here these *&$#&*^% people are honoring them.

I mean some people definitely deserve their awards (Fashola is an example)

But as one of my friends said when she told me about this DISGRACE

Be ashamed, be very ashamed.

I am very ashamed about this. WTF? This guy ruined the country, elevated corruption and did more worse things and he is being celebrated?

This media people are effing jokers! They celebrate someone who should hide his face in shame and stoned everytime he shows his face in public. But no, those media bigots think because they have money and roll in the same circles they are good.

Signing off saddened and we want Naija to be better? I think not with these types of people!

Nduka Obaigbena and Thisday Awards, while they have their uses are not the conscience of the country. Money talks and BS walks, that's the MO of Thisday Awards.

I know! @lusciousron and myne whitman, it makes me so mad but there really is nothing we can do at this point, awards have been given. i do wish that people would protest these things at home more.

Not sure where to post this but I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of National Clicks?

Can someone help me find it?

Overheard some co-workers talking about it all week but didn't have time to ask so I thought I would post it here to see if someone could help me out.

Seems to be getting alot of buzz right now.

Thanks
